Hi Everyone,
I love floral images and last year Concord & 9th’s Fine Line Florals stole my heart. Not only is this a beautiful image but I absolutely love that you can use the coordinating solid images for adding quick color. What I love even more is that the solid images are not fully solid but instead have very fine lines which gives the flowers a beautiful texture.
Image and Coloring
To start I stamped the main flower cluster twice onto Neenah Solar White, 80 lb, cardstock using Lawn Fawn’s Storm Cloud ink. I then used the coordinating solid images and Lawn Fawn’s Grape Soda, Wild Rose, and Butter inks to add color to some of the flowers. Next, I used Arteza color pencils (two yellow and two peach) to add some additional color to the flowers.
Background and Sentiment
For the background, I used a technique from Yana Smakula where you color in the background with a Copic marker to add drama and interest to the design. I’ve used the lovely technique before on a Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers card – I love how it turns out!
I wanted the sentiment to work for multiple occasions so I selected SugarPea Design’s Hello die – it is so lovely! I used Lawn Fawn’s Storm Cloud cardstock for the sentiment so that it would match the ink color that I used for the flower outlines.
Finishing Touches
As a last step I splatted the entire background generously with Hero Arts’ Pewter Metallic Ink. This gives the most beautiful shimmer and shine in real life.
Thank you for stoping by and spending a little time with me today!
