Hi Everyone!
I love Fall! It is by far my very favorite time of year and it’s also my favorite season for crafting. There are so many adorable stamps, stencils, dies, pattern papers, you name it, that come out this time of year…what’s not to love!?
The neat thing about this card is that it was made from leftover elements from other projects. I keep all my scraps, extra die cuts, images I color but don’t use/work on a card, etc. and then after I amass what seems like a crazy amount I go through it all either looking for inspiration or items I can use on my next card. I must admit, I completely love how all these random pieces came together for this card – they seem made for each other! I’m also completely loving layering multiple elements so I’ll be sharing more cards like this. Well, enough rambling let’s get on to the card!
Image
The super adorable deer is from Hello Bluebird’s Fall Buddies stamp set and was colored using Copic markers. This is such an incredibly cute fall set – I highly recommend it.
Background
The design panel is the only thing I didn’t have already onhand. To create it I taped Newton’s Nook Designs’ Tree Ring Stencil to a piece of MFT’s Kraft cardstock and used Lawn Fawn’s Walnut, Doe, and Pizza Crust inks to add color and dimension.
Die Cuts and Sentiment
The beautiful large leaf was die cut out of MFT’s Primitive Cream cardstock using Neat and Tangle’s Oak Leaf die, the circle was cut using a die from Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Circle Frames, the colored smaller leaves were die cut from various colors of cardstocks from my stash using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Leaves and Small Stitched Leaves dies.
For the sentiment, I used Sunny Studio’s Greetings Word Die which was cut from Lawn Fawn’s Ground Coffee cardstock three times and stacked together for added dimension.
Finishing touches
To add a bit of sparkle to the card I used Nuvo’s Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer pen on the deer’s scarf. I darken the deer’s eyes with a black Sakura Gelly Roll pen and added a pupil using a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I also placed Pretty Pink Posh’s Expresso Jewels around the card for a little add dimension and sparkle.
I hope this card inspires you to look at your leftover bits in a whole new way! Thanks for stopping by!
