Hi Everyone,
After Christmas I always like to make several winter themed cards especially since there are many beautiful winter stamp sets. I’ve had Hero Arts’ Hand Drawn Snowflakes background stamp in a my stash for awhile and really wanted to dust it off. Such a gorgeous stamp!
Stamping
To create this card, I started by stamping the Hand Drawn Snowflakes stamp set onto a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Sage Leaf cardstock and then heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe’s Sterling embossing powder.
Ink Blending
Once the embossing was completed I used Pinkfresh Studio’s Mermaid Cove and Aquamarine inks along with Taylored Expressions’ Spearmint ink to add shading around the outside edges of the design panel. I used the lighter ink, Spearmint, closer to the center and the dark inks, Mermaid Cove and Aquamarine, along the edges. The very center of the design panel is the natural Sage Leaf cardstock color. I adore how this turned out!
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
To add a bit more interest to the card, I used one of the dies from Simon Says Stamp’s Thin Frames die set to cut a frame into the design panel. Next, I used the same die to cut a piece of Tonic Studios’ Frosted Silver cardstock and replaced the die cut design panel frame with the Frosted Silver cardstock frame. I love this pretty silver frame and think it makes the card extra special.
For the sentiment, I stamped one from The Greetery’s Opposites Attract stamp set onto Lawn Fawn’s Fog cardstock and heat embossed it with Brutus Monroe’s Sterling embossing powder. On the inside of the card I stamped “Thank you” from the same stamp set in Pinkfresh Studio’s Aquamarine ink.
Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today. Stay safe and health!
