Hi All,
I’m excited to share a super colorful and fun birthday card featuring MFT’s Birth-Yay stamp set. I think this stamp set is so darn cute – you know how I love critters! I also really love that there is a separate image of each animal so you can use them separately or stacked together.
Coloring
I started by stamping my image on Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock using MFT’s Extreme Black ink and then colored all the super cute animals and their accessories with Copic markers.
Background
One of my goals lately is to use my stencils more often. I love stencils but I am a bit bad about actually, you know, using them, which is a shame since they add so much to cards. For today’s card, I thought it would be super fun to use Catherine Pooler’s Twisted Sunburst Stencil to create a fun and playful background. I wanted to create a rainbow background so I used Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks making sure to overlap the colors to create a rainbow.
Assembly
I cut the background panel with an MFT’s A2 Stitched Rectangle Stax Set 2 die and adhered it directly to my white cardbase. In order to ground the image, I stamped a sentiment from the set onto green cardstock and adhered the animal stack on top.
Inside of the Card
To finish off the card I stamped two of the images and a sentiment from the set using the same three shades of Distress Oxide ink: Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Salty Ocean.
I hope you enjoyed the card and that this inspires you to try dusting off some of your stencils too.
