Hi Everyone,
I don’t know about you, but at the start of every new year I need a whole lot of Birthday and Thank You cards. Throughout the year I like to make other types of cards too but when January rolls around I know these two types are by far the ones I need the most. So, with that in mind I thought I’d post my first birthday card for 2020.
Images
For this lovely card I decided to pull out the Pretty Pink Posh Anemones stamp set – isn’t it beautiful? I can’t believe I haven’t used it before now! I started by stamping several of the lovely images onto Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock and then heat embossed them using Lawn Fawn’s Gold Embossing Powder.
Coloring
To color these lovely blooms and leaves I used Faber-Castell’s Polychromos Color Pencils. I used two shades of pink for each flower along with a white pencil to add a more dramatic highlight and for the leaves I used two shades of green.
Sentiment
To create the sentiment I used MFT’s Brushstroke Expressions stamp set and heat embossed the sentiment with the same Lawn Fawn Gold Embossing Powder. I love how this ties the card together.
Finishing Touches
For finishing touches, I created gold dots for each of the flower stamens using Nuvo’s Bright Gold Crystal Drops. Lastly, I used a gold watercolor from Kuretake’s Gansai Tambi Starry Colors to add splatter all over the card.
I hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks for stopping by today!
