Hi Everyone,
I’m very lucky that the weather where I live has been lovely lately and tons of beautiful flowers are in bloom – I love Spring! All this beauty has me in the mood to create a spring themed card so I knew the super lovely Pretty Pink Posh Spring Wreath stamp set would be perfect for my card today.
Image and Coloring
I love the beautiful floral wreath that is part of the stamp set and I wanted it to take center stage on my card. I started by stamping the wreath in Gina K. Designs Applemint ink onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and then used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the image.
Background
To create the background panel I stamped the wreath multiple times onto Bristol Smooth cardstock using Gina K. Designs Applemint ink. However, after doing so the background looked stark due to the high contrast and abundant white space. I debated over how to fix it and decided to try ink blending over the stamped image. I wanted the background to be soft so I blended Cracked Pistachio and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks making sure to soften my blending towards the center. I absolutely LOVE how this turned out!
Side Note: I also applied a light layer for Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink along the outer edge of the wreath to soften it a bit too.
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
I wanted the sentiment to complement the floral wreath so I pulled out the very pretty Sunny Studio’s Hello Word Die and die cut the word three times from MFT’s Primitive Cream cardstock. Next, I stacked the die cuts together and adhered the word to the wreath.
To finish off the card I adhered Pretty Pink Posh Jewels in Buttercream, Pansy Purple, and Pink Blush over all the circular elements in the wreath. This gives the card so much sparkle and is the perfect finishing touch!
I hope you are enjoying Spring where you are. Thanks for stopping by!
