Hi All,
Lately, I’ve been really enjoying using my colored pencils on different colors of cardstock. It’s so interesting how much the pencil colors change based on the cardstock color.
For today’s card, I thought this super lovely stamp set from Studio Katia would be perfect to color with colored pencils.
Image
To start I stamped both images from Studio Katia’s Citrus Trimmings set onto MFT’s Kraft cardstock using Lawn Fawn’s Walnut ink. I really love to use this ink on Kraft cardstock since it’s dark enough to show details but is not black which I don’t typically like to use with color pencils.
Selecting several different shades of Arteza colored pencils (3 yellows for the lemons, 3 oranges for the oranges, and 3 greens for the leaves) I colored most of the image. I debated about coloring all of the fruit but I really liked how leaving some images uncolored looked so I went with it.
Sentiments
Out of white cardstock, I cut SugarPea Designs’ Hello die four times and stacked it to create dimension. I heat embossed a sentiment from Avery Elle’s Peek-A-Book Pals onto yellow cardstock with Lawn Fawn’s White embossing powder and popped it up with foam tape. To add the ellipsis I used my White Sakura Gelly Roll 08 pen.
Finishing Touches
To add just a bit more punch and bring out the green of the leaves I add three Doodlebug Design’s Kitten Caboodle Sprinkles to the card front.
Card Inside
On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Citrus Trimmings set along with a small portion of one of the images in Lawn Fawn’s Walnut ink.
I hope you enjoyed the card!
