Hi Everyone,
I really enjoy Whimsy Stamps and their many adorable stamp sets as well as really awesome dies but some of my favorite stamps sets are their beautiful mermaid sets. I absolutely love Whimsy Stamps’ Let’s Be Mermaids stamp set but a few of my other favorites include Elania, Mermaid Escape, and Mermaid Birthday.
Images
I started by stamping the images from Let’s Be Mermaids onto Strathmore’s Bristol Smooth cardstock using VersaFine Clair’s Nocturne ink and then embossed them with Hero Arts’ Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I used a combination of Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Arteza Real Brush Pens to color the images.
Background
To create the ocean panel, I ink blended Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon inks onto Strathmore’s Bristol Smooth cardstock and then splattered it with water. Next, I used Memory Box’s Ocean Swell die to cut a window out of Neenah Solar White, 110 lb, cardstock – I absolutely love this beautiful die. I popped up the window panel with two layers of foam tape to create a shaker card.
Sentiment and Finishing Touches
For the sentiment, I used one from the Let’s Be Mermaids stamp set and stamped it onto the window panel using VersaFine Clair’s Nocturne ink. Lastly, to add finishing touches I adhered three of Studio Katia’s Iridescent Bubbles onto the card and went over the fish with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen.
Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today!
